Why We Make Leather Goods the Old Way
Hide & Hammer Trading & Supply Co. is a family-run leather shop in Logan, Ohio, handcrafting wallets and leather goods built to last a lifetime. Most wallets today are made to be replaced. Slapped together, stamped out by the thousand, and worn through in a year or two. We started Hide & Hammer because we wanted to make the opposite of that... pieces you buy once and carry for decades.
Everything here is cut, stitched, and finished by hand in Logan, Ohio. We work in full-grain leather, the highest and most durable grade, because it's the only kind that earns a patina instead of falling apart. The leather that looks good on day one should look even better after ten years in your back pocket. That takes real hides, waxed thread, and a little patience not a machine and a deadline.
This is a one man operation on a small family farm. Working one piece at a time means we can put our name on every wallet, card holder, and custom order that leaves the bench. It's slower. It's also the only way we'd want to do it. Made by hand. Built to last. The way it used to be.

How do I start a custom order?
Reach out through our contact form or email with what you're looking for... the style, color, and any personalization. We'll talk through the details, confirm pricing, and get started once everything's set.
How long does a custom order take?
How long does a custom order take? Most custom pieces are ready in about 2-5 weeks, depending on the design and our current queue. We'll give you a timeline when you order. Need it by a certain date? Let us know up front and we'll tell you what's possible.
How much does a custom piece cost?
Pricing depends on the style and the work involved. Our ready-made wallets run from $123 to $218, and custom pieces are priced based on leather, hardware, and personalization. We'll quote you before any work begins... no surprises.
What leather do you use?
Full-grain veg-tanned leather, most wallets use a combination of thicknesses 2-3 oz. for intern parts to keep bulk down and 5-6 oz. for durability on the exterior. I t breaks in over time and develops a rich patina, so it looks better the longer you carry it
What can I personalize?
Color, liner, hardware, and stitching are all your call. We also offer monogramming, hand-tooling, and laser engraving for initials, names, or custom designs.
Do you take bulk or corporate orders?
Yes. We handle larger runs for groomsmen gifts, businesses, and events. Reach out with your quantity and timeline and we'll put together a quote.
Do you offer returns on custom orders?
Because custom pieces are made just for you, they're typically non-returnable. There are exceptions, just contact us if there are issues. If something isn't right with our workmanship, we'll make it right.
How do I care for my leather?
Keep it dry, condition it now and then, and let it age naturally. Done right, a Hide & Hammer piece is built to last a lifetime.
